Antique Country ash field basket c1875 This field basket is very similar to one shown in "Baskets" by Nancy N. Schiffer page 112 that was made in Stamford Connecticut. This field basket measures 19 and one half inches across,9 inches high and 16 inches to the top of its handle. Excellent original as found condition.

"Eastern Woodland Indians" were tribes that lived east of the Plains Indians and reached from Maryland, to the Great Lakes, and up into Maine. This "Woodland Indian basket" measures approximately 6 and one half inches square on the bottom and stands 9 inches tall, included the lid handle.
